COI = Conflict Of Interest   M&G = Meet and Greet
Non Profit Organization involved is SBFII Susan Boyle Fans International
Director of the Board : Pickled Tink
Board Members : GritsT, sunandroses, John V, Lonnirose, truusbuist, wasforgas

Issue :  A Meet & Greet was initiated by Sony 2-3 weeks ago. They contacted Board/Staff of the non profit to make arrangements quietly for a focus group meeting of about 20 members of the Susan Boyle fandom. The itinerary included lunch with Susan, footage was shot for an upcoming documentary, screening of 4 rough cuts of new material from Susan Boyle's 3rd CD, due Nov. 2011. The bulk of the arrangements were made by a Board Member. At least 2 Board Members and 1 Staff Member of the non profit attended and accepted gifts (hotel accommodations, meal, etc..) from the for profit corporate entity (ies). Some were hurt as the selection process favored this one forum over others in the fandom (again), and the disclosure of the M&G came from a tweet by an employee at the restaurant. Adding to the non-transparency, a list of attendees has not been made public and posts and threads with members expressing disappointment were deleted. Members that expressed any displeasure or criticism at how this incident was handled were dismissed as suffering from sour grapes at not being included, and the non profit Management excused themselves by stating that they were simply doing what Susan and her Management Team(s) wanted/asked of them. Most of the main discussion thread (pre-deletion) was saved and is available below for reference.

Meet And Greet 20th August 2011, Susan In New York.

Meet and Greet in New York, News On Susan In New York

Well, at last we can tell you what has been going on. We gave our word to Susan and to Andy that we would not say a word until now , and we are sure that you all understand that we could not break the trust which was placed in us.

As you know Susan has been in
New York this week end. Knowing that Susan was going to be travelling to New York on business they decided that it would be a good opportunity to combine business with pleasure. They decided to arrange a meet and greet with some of of Susan’s fans and of course Susan was to be the guest of honour. Originally this was going to be a small group of 4/5 fans but about 2/3 weeks ago they decided to make it a much bigger occasion and go all out for a meet and greet with 20 or more fans. They don’t do things by halves do team Subo!

Now obviously some people will immediately want to know why this was not made public, why didn't everyonel know about it , why they were not invited, who decided who was going to go and how this all went down? That's a normal human reaction, and this is Susan we are talking about. We were not involved in deciding who went , and it is understood that team Subo have focused on folk whom Susan has never actually met. However Susan does like to have familiar faces present at these occasions so they contacted Grits T directly and asked that she and Randma would be involved. Andy Stephens suggested them because Susan knows, likes and gets on well with these ladies, and they were personally asked to attend and to liaise with the fans who would be attending and to organise the fun and games. Team Subo are in touch with fans from many places.
This event was set up at very short notice and we are amazed that Grits managed to pull it all together so quickly , so well done to her. She had about 24 hours in which to get every one organized and confirmed. Everyone then had to make their own travel arrangements. We understand that Team Subo provided hotel accommodation for all those attending and also the meal at the restaurant for the meet and greet. For some folk it was their first time in the big apple! We gather that it was all quite a mad scramble but that it all came together.

Grits enlisted some help from Janna55, (who unbeknown to us was going to be going along and like all of the attendees was sworn to secrecy), in organising the sequence of events and all of the ensuing fun. The fans all met at the
St Andrews restaurant in New York, and they had exclusive use of two rooms for several hours. Fans with good memories may remember that in 2009 a large group of Susafans met there for an evening meal and that it is a well known Scottish themed restaurant in New York. There were several tables with ample room for all the Susan posters, Susan faces, and of course flat Susan was there as well. After the meal Susan went from table to table talking to all of the fans, also stopping for a wee chat with flat Susan along the way. As you might expect she made sure that everyone had the opportunity to talk to her. I am sure that many are looking forward to sharing their accounts of the occasion with you and relaying what Susan said to them. Susan was presented with some very special gifts and I am sure that, having contained the secret for what must seem like an eternity to them they will now all be bursting to tell you all about it. By all accounts Susan had an amazing time and so did those attending. They have till know been unable to share this with you at Susan and Andy's request, but they have now been given the green light to do so. We know that you will all want to share their joy with them and also Susan's joy as she so loves meeting with her fans; and to join together in celebrating the fact that so many were able to enjoy this wonderful and unique opportunity. Please be patient - they are currently on the way back to their hotel so we may have to wait a wee while for the first hand accounts..

I wish that some of the rest of us could be invited sometimes.

I had figured out that one of the fans was going, and when Susan said on FB that she was going to meet some wonderful people thought there might be a fan meet. I'm glad that everyone who was invited got to see Susan though.

Please invite me next time. (I'm not selfish, am I? LOL) I was left out of the quilt presentation and went to LA the time Susan didn't get to perform. Surely hope to meet her one day.

Please everybody who went, post pictures and tell us all about it.

Great news. Glad they had a big group, so we'll have lots of reports. And big cheers to Grits, Randma and Janna for being able to get it all organized on short notice. Never a dull moment in Subo fandom (or at least not for very long).

It is my understanding that with the exception of Grits T and Randma, who were specifically asked to attend for by Team Subo, not one single person attending has ever met Susan before. We understand that was a pre requisite of this event. I think we all wish that everyone could have been invited but I am sure that we also all realise that's just not possible. Team Subo has contact with fans who are not just members here and are free to invite whomsoever they wish. I think that we should just be happy for those that did get invited.

Good grief, I would hope Team Subo would invite people from other fan sites to the M&Gs. We're all united in the same purpose. In fact, I had been a little worried that perhaps this site was getting all the attention, because it was the first and is still the largest. I shouldn't have worried. No flies on Team Subo.

Why on earth, would you feel like a damn fool, Soothed. Much as she loves us, Susan didn't fly to NY to just M&G with 20 fans. There's more to the story, which I'm sure will begin to unfold over the coming weeks. For openers, Susan had photogs with her in Tribeca. I'd be surprised if there weren't cameras at the M&G. Stay tuned.

Just had an update.

All of the fans got to spend time with Susan in the second room, they took it in turns adn everyone had some one on one time with her. She was wearing a purple blouse and slacks. She arrived at 1.00 and left at 3.45.

She will sing one of her new songs on
AGT :)

And........ THE LUCKY fans were asked to give up their cell phones, cameras etc.... and then they heard a couple of her new songs.... and now actually I think I hate them all..... :( ..... they said WOW WOW WOW ......

Heard a couple of new songs? Live or recorded? Wow, now I wonder how they can keep quiet about what they heard. Hard to keep all that under your hat for over 2 months.

I wish that her management could arrange a meet and greet that is not secret. There was a mention of scheduling one once, but it was in Las Vegas, and I think there was not enough interest although that is hard to imagine. Or course, her management does what they think is best for Susan, and her time in the US is valuable. Glad she got to do something fun.

Soothed, I don't understand why you say you were gullible? Because you didn't know this was going to happen? I don't think it was kept a secret in case we got too excited. But I seem to remember that it was explained some time ago when something similar had happened, that the reason for the secrecy was to ensure that the tabs and paps were kept out of the picture. As we know, we have people here who are on the lookout for any interesting news that might be passed on to the tabs as soon as they are aware of it. :smiley-rolleyes:

:Ilovesusan::susanrocks:big grinI don't know why people get so upset. I am thrilled that many fans who had not met Susan got the chance. It's possible that her management could plan more of these meetings. How many celebrities even entertain the idea of meeting with their fans. Susan has a lot of fans, and not everyone is going to be chosen. Frankly, I am glad we get updates from those who attend these functions. I would certainly keep it a secret. I wouldn't want party crashers arriving to ruin the event. Can't wait to hear updates from the lucky 20 fans.

I completely agree. It was most considerate of them to include dedicated fans in their tight schedule and to make an effort to have folks that haven't met her their focus.

Whilst I understand that everyone wants to know how or why the people who attended got to go. Can I make the following points. This was not a forum meet and greet, there may be a lot of things we are not privy to and which they do not yet want us to know, they have their reasons, and we should respect them. So, maybe some of the comments and questions are perhaps not helpful. It is understandable that everyone wants to be there etc... .However, Susan has MILLIONS of fans and if there was a meet and greet every single day for the next ten years she could not meet them all. It's just not practicable. Yes of course everyone wants to meet her. Some of us have been very very lucky and we know that. Some have not been and I so wish that more folk had been. I also know that more folk will be in the future.

But can I ask you for for a few minutes to put yourselves in the shoes of those who have met Susan today. They have just had the time of their lives; they will be excited, over the moon, and just itching to share their news. They will come to the forum and what will they see? Posts which quite frankly seem a little resentful that some were chosen and they were not. How would you feel if that were you? There will always be someone who will be disappointed whatever criteria are used. But surely it is not too much to be happy that others got this opportunity and that they are willing to share it with you?

I am glad Susan takes the time to connect with her fans. I feel lucky just to be involved long distance. Isn't it wonderful that our Fan Site has wonderful ladies that Susan likes enough to want to see them again and again. That says a lot about those fans and our Fan site as a whole. I thank my lucky stars that I joined and feel apart of it all. You have to remember that they do it the best way possible for Susan not us.

I'll say I'm shocked...to say the least. There are a lot of people right here on this Forum who have never met Susan. Am I delighted that there was a Meet and Greet (secret) in NY? No, not really. Not like this. Put myself in the shoes of people who attended? Can't bear to do it. Have I been negatively affected by this? Yes. There are fans, and then there are FANS.

Why do I feel gullible? Because I should have picked up on it sooner. It is not the first time it has happened. I feel no animosity towards anyone who got to attend this fun event. I, for one, (and surely there are others) am very happy for those who got to attend this M & G. As with so many other events before, there is a vicarious enjoyment, well-fleshed out by those who were there. Has it not always been our experience that those who attended any such event were gracious and generous with their time, stories, pictures, recollections, etc.? Can we not be equally gracious and generous with our appreciation for their good fortune and delight in being able to attend? I'm happy for them!:Ilovesusan:

Come on folks - it is a case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't" - let's be happy for those fortunates who attended, a day they will never forget - we can still speculate as to WHY she is in New York in the first instance and impatiently await AGT!

I am very pleased for the fans, I just don't see the need for secrecy, it would have been the next best thing to have known about it and to have waited for posts with eager anticipation and I am sure if we were told that it was a small gathering the members would have respected that but felt involved. I am very happy for the fans who were there and would like to know who they are and what exciting things they have to say about the M&G. No resentment against them for being the chosen ones.

I would also like to request that perhaps Susan or Andy or Joanne or GritsT or Randma or whoever puts together the list of attendees would let everyone else know what the criteria are to be included in one of these exclusive events. Then maybe others could make themselves known to the right people. Since RIK was invited this was obviously nothing to do with proximity to NYC.

I am sure that I will never be invited, and I accept that, but it would be nice to give all the good people on this site a clue-and other sites as well.
All of this secrecy and exclusiveness is not what we would have expected from Susan, so it comes as a shock and a disappointment, I am not posting again on this, and I don't care what anyone thinks. I regret that the message will never get to Susan that people feel bad.

Just because some dont see the need for secrecy does not mean that there was not a very good reason for tsecrecy on this occasion. We are not privy to everything. I have often been puzzled by things and thought "I really dont see why they do that" only for things to become clear further down the track. I suspect that this is one of those occasions. I am sure that things will be made clear all in good time.

Then we are all equally "gullible". Even though it has happened before, I don't think anyone picked up on it. Which I hope means that the tab spies didn't pick up on it either. That was the whole idea - and well done to them. The privacy of Susan and of her fans have been respected. And IMO it is even more exciting this way when we never guessed what was coming, to get such great news and to be able to look forward to twenty first-hand reports. There seems to be a big lack of understanding that you can't whisper in the ear of people you want to know and do it on-line. If you want the whole world to know, just put it on-line. Can you imagine what would have happened if they put out the word in advance?

First I'd like to say I'm not the least bit concerned about not being invited because I would have declined anyway . But just an objective observation , I think the secrecy is a big mistake. It's not the part about not being invited that is insulting,it's keeping the meet and greet a secret. What's the point of it? Why all the scheming? Why did Tink say Grits had 24 hrs notice and RIK say he was invited weeks ago? It sends a message that they think Susan fans are dumb . Why does team Subo feel they have to manipulate Susan's fans to this extent? I'm merely curious.

Bern, TRUST ME, if I could had been able to "share my slot" after declinging the offer to attend the first person I'd ask to go would be SusaFan Lorias as she's my Fans For Susan Boyle Websites "boss" and a good friend. Lori has number of disabilities, I'd do anything short of carrying her on my back to NYC from Indiana for her to see Susan. I'll glady give up my "slot" for anybody else, including transporting any fan between Cameron Park to CBS Television City within reasonable distance from California State Route 99 to see Susan perform on AGT - if she indeed does - late this month or next for free, including paying for overnight lodging if we couldn't make it a day trip. I'd offered last year to do something like this to see Susan at AGT & DWTS BTW.

But we did plan a very delightful, and open to anyone, dinner and brunch last year in NYC, to which Susan and Amber were invited. Right here on this forum. But there ARE reasons for what was planned this time, we just don't know what they were. In this day and age with I'm surprised they did it at all. I would feel horrible if something bad happened if the wrong people got wind of it. Just sayin.

From my perspective, this unrest has nothing to do with the lucky 20 who got the privilege of meeting Susan. I am happy for them. I could not have gone even if invited, so it is not about me either. It is about treating us as if we are three and can't be trusted. I would have loved to have been informed and in on it, so to speak. My life needs all the excitement it can get, right at the moment. Also to make sure the invited were evenly represented from all fansites. JMHO

You obviously misread or misunderstood what I said. RIK was contacted severl week ago. Grits had 24 hours notice to get them organised. In a 24 hours period 2/3 weeks ago Grits had to nail it all down so that everyone could make their travel arrangements.

The secrecy issue is something for which there is probably a very GOOD reason. When that reason is made public we may all understand. It is all too easy to jump to conclusions when we are not in the full possession of the facts. These people are professionals and they do not keep things secret just to annoy fans. Yes we are curious, and they understand that but they will reveal all when the time is right to do so. Their primary aim is to protect and support Susan and that should be ours as well. A little faith would not hurt now and again. I am not suggesting we all follow blindly, that would be naive in the extreme, but that that we actually wait and see for once and then if it turns out that the reasons dont stand up to scutiny - then and only then - do we start with the recriminations and what would be legitimate complaints.

"I'm very excited to be in New York, it's so good to be back in this wonderful city. I've got a busy few days meeting some wonderful people and you'll be the first to hear my news when I can tell you." (Susan Boyle)

I am pleased that yet more fans got to meet with Susan "one to one" and that a good time was had by all. I also assume that, in the fullness of time, they will post their reports of this meet and greet to all of us here and on other sites so that we can share in their excitement and hopefully also get some idea of what transpired.
I, for one, look forward to that with great anticipation.

I am surmising that, on this occasion, the meet and greet involved such secrecy because it was more than just a meet and greet and that there may be other reasons, unknown to all of us at this moment, for such secrecy.

Maybe it would be prudent for us all to wait and hear from those in attendance and especially from Susan herself.

JMHO

Come on, Andy. You don't mean that. Look they're trying to launch Susan's all-important 3rd CD in the best way, possible. I'm sure the activities were filmed and some of that will be used for a later promotion. I understand that Susan needs a few familiar faces around her, because she is shy, but I think it's lovely she asked for the great proportion to be people she'd never met. And she got an audience to try out a couple of new songs on and got a great reaction. That must have been reassuring for her.

I don't know what the criteria were for choosing people to invite, but if it were me, I would have asked those who had volunteered the most time toward keeping the sites running.

I believe it had to be kept secret, because an awful lot of Susan fans live in and around NYC and they all would have wanted to go. And the group had to be kept small for the larger promotional purpose of the M&G. I understand some are offended by the knowledge that they weren't in on the secret and others were, but honestly, I don't see how it could have been done any other way.

The exciting times are just starting. The ones we've been waiting for all year.
Let's not spoil it

    • There was no time to do e-mail ping-pong on this matter.
    • GritsT HAD to work fast and I appreciated that!
There WILL be other opportunities for M&Gs with Susan. Last thing she would want her fans to do is bicker over who was or wasn't invited. All I know is IF I could had at the time was ask Grits to ask Lorias to go and I'd do the rest paying her way to NYC if she'd could had gone - there just wasn't time this 'round to do that!

If Susan ever comes to Canada I'd love to meet her so take note Team Subo. Congratulations to the lucky 20 and where are you! We want details!!

Don't want to make this a reply to anyone. Just wanted to say that if this or any other M&G or anything else "alienates" a Susan Boyle fan, then there is something mightily wrong, not with her management but with the fan themselves. If Andy decided secrecy was the way to go (and with the tabs being what they are) I can certainly understand it. If it was posted on the forum, you can bet your bottom dollar that it would have been posted elsewhere. Since it was limited to 20 people, how else does anything think it could have been handled differently? I am as avid a fan of Susan as anyone, but I don't have the need to meet her or even be invited to meet her to feel that way. I love her persona and I love her music. There seems to be an attitude that we should somehow be privileged to know everything she does or is doing and the reasons behind it. Wondering is fine. Speculation can be fun. But I do not think being loyal and supportive fans gives us any special "rights". I hope we will get pictures and news from those who were there. I can understand if we do not.

No you won't, there are millions of us, lets be realistic. Susan can never meet us all. By meeting some and sharing time with them - knowing they will in turn share the experience with fans who were not there, is very generous of Susan and we're very lucky imo - those who do meet Susan, and those who get first hand accounts about it. Love your line, 'she doesn't have to shake my hand to touch me.' Eloquent and so very true :>)

Same here Diane, I am really sad to see all of this , and if I was one of the 20 and I was reading this thread I would not feel much like posting. Just listen to yourselves, ME ME ME.

You are so right. I am so surprised at some of the posts on here. I couldn't have gone if asked, and probably a lot of others couldn't have, either. And surely most of us realize why it couldn't be made public. Even tho this is a thread everyone can't read, we know there are some on here who are newspeople and or paps. If they had made it public, the whole thing would have been swarmed. I am so happy I am a member of this forum, so I can read about these meet and greets, and enjoy the pictures taken by those lucky enough to have gone.
I just hope the postings of some on this forum so far today doesn't turn Susan's people off from doing other meet and greets. If there are people keeping track of who might be good to invite next time, I would say a few have cooked their goose today. Please, everyone, let's enjoy the fun here, and enjoy Susan. We wouldn't know any of this if it wasn't for this forum.

Diane, I think I have proved myself to be a true and loyal fan of both Susan and the Forum, so I can assure you I am not the least bit jealous of the fans who were invited, I am truely pleased for them, I would have just liked to have kn own about it to enjoy the anticipation and feel involved but possibly as stevieboy has said there are reasons for the secrecy, I hope so. :)

There's no point in bashing anyone, Teri. It is a shame if that is what happens.

Well, I wouldn't count on the website, but I do agree Susan's team has probably learned from this. Susan is not an ordinary global star and neither are her fans and it's a mistake to give the impression, wrongly I'm sure, that there is an "inner circle" of select fans, privy to secret information. There are other ways I believe to winnow the crowd. Maybe by lottery.

I'm not speaking personally. I don't care. I just want Susan to sell lots of CDs, make lots of money and live happily ever after. But obviously some do.

It would help if the folks, who were there, would get on the stick and report. As chosen representatives of Subo Fandom they are privileged but timely reporting is also the responsibility.

I was invited with the criteria that I had NOT met Susan before. I had met Susan in NYC in 2009, so I relinguished my spot to someone who had not met Susan. I can assure you that I have no priviliege with Susan's team or administration of this website. I Believe I was chosen randomly. I do believe that those who met Susan today felt at the top of the world as I did in 2009, and it lives with me still.

Thank you PT for being the voice of reason.

JMHO

Well said, Stevieboy!

Hopefully they will post here because they understand that most of Susan's fans here are eagerly looking forward to hearing all about their adventure - what Susan said, what Susan did, how Susan looked.... and maybe a word or two about themselves. lol

Lisa, my regret is there was no time to let Lorias much less you or anybody else to be substituted for today's M&G. GritsT et.al. setting it up "from the fandom side" had to work fast as those putting on the M&G wanted those who could be there - there - and as many possible who never met Susan before and that so happened to include me. There WILL be other opportunities to meet with Susan, I'll settle seeing her on AGT IF she does appear on it next few weeks. I just envy those lucky SusaFans who got to her Susan sing not one but TWO new songs today - man how I just wish!

Hopefully speaking from an objective viewpoint, being too far away to ever have been "invited" - the issue seems to be how some are worthy of being invited, and others are not. Huge disappointment for those who are relegated to the second category. The secrecy does seem hard to figure, because on other occasions they want a crowd for publicity purposes. Would it matter if the media knew about the meeting? The restaurant could have removed any obvious paparazzi. The World Fan Meeting was open to all fans, was wonderfully well organised and was not secret. As far as I am aware, there were no problems with intrusive media.

Once we get news, I think we'll lose the negative comments. At the end of the day, we're all here for Susan and what we're interested in Susan's mood, what she says, what she sings (or if not that, at least whether they were good songs) and generally if the prospects for the Fall are bright.

I think you are right, but I also think they should have given more consideration to the feelings of her other fans. They have alienated a lot of fans, even though unintentionally, by the way they have handled this.

Calling the fans bodies is insulting, and I do not think Andy decided they needed bodies.
I would like to assume that some of the fans present there were chosen by Susan.

Frankly I'm appaled with this kind of vocabulary, this is not animal farm it is a fansite!!!

Saying this about Andy seems to me to be showing a complete disrespect for Susan. On this forum one common bond we have all shared is wanting the best for Susan. That has included having Andy as her manager. Susan obviously respects him and his handling of her and her career. I care about Susan's opinion first and foremost.

There are 8 of us in a hotel room in NY and we are saddened by the derision on this thread. Please know that I considered it a great honor to be asked to organize this event, I was given very specific instructions, and I did it for Susan.

We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon - it ranks right up there with a wedding and/or the birth of a child!

Susan was in grand form, dressed in jeans and a purple top. Her hair was bobbed, tousled and darling. We welcomed her with a Hello, Susan version of Hello, Dolly and she danced her way into the room. Each fan had special one-on-one time with her. We presented her with flat Susan and an album of fan pictures with fS. We did a bit of line dancing to
NY, NY. We were told that Susan WILL be on AGT 8/31! Andy is a gentleman and adores Susan (but you all already know that!)

Susan was relaxed, comfortable, loving and hilarious. If I had my fondest wish granted, it would be that each and all of you could have been there.

Andy, Susan and Andy Stephens are joined at the hip, at least as far as business is concerned. They are the co-Directors of her LLC and their incomes depend on each other. More than that, personally, they have been through the stressful early months of Susan's career when she was still finding her feet in a tumultuous new world. Andy may or may not make mistakes, even experienced people do, but I would lay bets that nothing will separate them during Susan's career. They have been forged in the fire.

I don't think it is derision jeanine- it is the fact that this is a forum of fans and it has been real quiet in a month since China, and something like this was going on behind the scenes- if you were in their shoes- those who faithfully click here daily ( not me as i have been almost AWOL for the month with this wicked injury from my fall)
And then they are kind of surprised- they are expressing why. That is not derision-I am glad to hear Miss B was in good form, and of course, we know Andy adores her- that goes without saying.
What songs besides "Hello Dolly"did she sing?
P.S when i used the word "bodies" i meant fans- fans to show up in NYC quickly for something that was not a normal M & G. I think folks are confused thiking they were left out of a normal M & g, which this does not sound like it was.....

They ABSOLUTELY should NOT BE, you are so correct, Pickled Tink!!!

And, to the FORTUNATE 20, I urge you to share your joy freely, for there will always be those who try to discount and rob someone else of their JOY, as they focus upon the negatives and try to dump unearned GUILT upon the shoulders of those who have JOY TO SHARE. It's the old "I'm not feeling OK, so don't want you to feel OK either!" syndrome.

Each of us has a choice...to be ruled by jealousy or bitterness, or to celebrate the JOY OTHERS EXPERIENCED WITH SUSAN, and SHE EXPERIENCED WITH THEM. Let's not forget to focus upon that. This was Susan's need...and Susan's request. Let's show our love for Susan by honoring that.

Reflect back to those BGT TOUR video clips we treasured so deeply. Were they professional films? NO...but did we wait eagerly for each precious contribution??? YOU
BET WE DID, and I still enjoy those video clips from long ago. Did we, in those days complain about those who lived in the region, and were fortunate to attend those BGT TOUR CONCERTS? Not that I can recall. We just thrilled that Susan had an audience who loved her, and with whom she so lovingly interacted as she performed.

Rather than focusing upon ourselves, let's focus upon the joy that Susan experienced, in having one more opportunity to spend a few moments of quality time with fans she had never met before. How special it is, that her heart cares to personally bond with her fans. And, rejoice with those who were blessed by personal moments with her.

At the beginning, we fans freely shared our memories and photos from fan gatherings, and those who were blessed to travel abroad, to Susan's events, also shared their photos and memories. If we want that joy to continue, we must not attack those who share with us. Whatever happened to the concepts of "graciousness" and "gratitude"? Love knows how to rejoice in another's joy. And, if we lose sight of that, we will all be losers...including our beloved Susan.

Thanks for the report GritsT - I do love the visual of the fans singing Susan into the room! In fact one of my favorite past fan memories is when fans sang her out of the airport in Nov/2010 singing 'New York, New York' - that was such a great sight and Susan seemed to really enjoy it! Glad you all had a grand time!

And, of we lose sight of that, we will all be losers...including our beloved Susan.

I think, Trish, that's what we're waiting for, to be shared with about Susan. It's nice to hear this first report from Grits, but I hope more is forthcoming from the others, who were privileged to be there.

That was a lot of fun. Like an old movie...made the news, too.

So well said Trish! None of this devisiveness has accomplished anything but a deep sadness on the forum at a time when we should be jumping for joy with news of Susan! Let us embrace those who were fortunate to be at the M & G today and welcome any information as we all did at the beginning of Susan's journey! Be happy for Susan who has been on a whirlwind for the past two years.. accomplishing things she could only dream about. This forum has one primary purpose: to support Susan!! Thank goodness for the fans who are able to bring us the news we so fervently seek!:grouphug:

Disappointment is part of life. If we were fans of anyone except Susan noone would ever have a chance to meet her. It's because of Susan and her team that so many fans have had that opportunity. It can't be easy for Susan and her team to manage that but they do. We have no idea what it is like to be in their shoes and we just have to trust they are doing the best they can even if it isn't done the way WE would do it. So let's all put on our big girl (boy) panties and act like grown ups and celebrate all things Susan!!!!!!!! Especially her new up and coming CD!!! Whoop, whoop!!!!!!!!

Great description of Susan, especially "loving and hilarious"! I often think of Susan that way and feel that is part of her charm. And your wish is taken in by many of us I'm sure...

I'm at work and read the first post awhile ago and then came back and read through just now.

First of all, kudos to Randma, GritsT, and Janna for whatever organizational role they played. I'm delighted for all who got to attend. I'm excited to learn of the purpose of the M&G. I would love to hear more from those who attended (whatever they're allowed to say).

I also think it would be good idea to start a new, positive thread for attendees who are willing to share.

I just have to put my oar in the water and say that I am delighted for those who got to go. One said it was like the day of giving birth or a wedding. I totally get that. That's how I felt when I saw Susan sing in New York last Nov. from the front row. What a thrill. As long as I live it will be one of the highlights of my life. So be blessed my Susan-fan friends and enjoy your wonderful memories. :cloud: I love the part about Susan dancing into the room as they sang her in. I love her spirit. I think it's great that Susan and Andy and whoever else decided, that fans were even included inthis way - at all. If we get too cranky and devisive such things could not happen in the future if they determine that it causes problems. So I say  I am so happy for all of you who got to go and had a chance to show Susan by your love just how special she is. :Ilovesusan: I could never begrudge anyone such joy.

Each fan had special one-on-one time with her. We presented her with flat Susan and an album of fan pictures with fS. We did a bit of line dancing to

Susan was relaxed, comfortable, loving and hilarious. If I had my fondest wish granted, it would be that each and all of you could have been there.

Amen to that. I think it's impossible to have Susan in a large mob of people. There are security issues and it could be very daunting (as the Brits say), to have a whole swarm of people wanting her time. So they did what they could and they didn't have to do any of it. I am THRILLED for those who attended and will be further THRILLED to hear about it. Wonderful - just wonderful.

What exciting news to hear that Susan was able to meet fans in New York. I'm sure this must have been a special highlight for Susan of her visit to New York. I can't wait to hear all the reports.

I was thinking as I looked at the photograph of Susan taken at the restaurant, how extraordinary that a lady who has lived her life in a small village in Scotland would be recognized by so many as she walked down the street in New York. It is amazing how much has taken place in her life in a little over two years and I hope she is enjoying it tremendously.

Beautifully said, Linda. I also loved what Grits reported about Susan dancing into the room as they sang. Shows that she was relaxed and enjoying herself. That's what we all want for Susan. It matters not (to me) who got to go, as long as this fansite was represented.

Agree so much. Please don't punish the 98% of us who are thrilled for you and desperate to hear what happened and see pictures, because thre are 2% who are childish and jealous and want to spoil the fun.

Even though I doubt I could hop on a plane and get to NYC if it was an open invitation (and I am hardly ever jelous of others' good fortune), I do feel alienated from those who were able to pick and choose their acquaintances to go to this exclusive M&G. That said it was Susan and her management's decision and those involved made the best of it. I just don't like those who know Susan quite well telling me how I should view this M&G. Of course, I will be looking for all the reports and photos but wish the M&G had not been so very exclusive.

Whew! I’m sure you all realize that no one who was there would post until they had read through all 24 pages of this thread first, and that takes time. Besides which I’ve been out for a family obligation and just got home.

I was one of the lucky, lucky, lucky ones! From the moment I got the message about it I have alternated between complete delirium/excitement and serious misgivings and worry about how the news would eventually be received on the forum. I know very well that if I had not been so fortunate this time I would have felt at least a twinge of envy and asked “why not me?” But then I would have to know that it appeared to be random, as I haven’t done anything to curry favor with anybody. So in the end, coming up with 20 people out of – gosh, how many are we in all? – was bound to cause disappointment among the remaining hundreds of fans. But believe me, we all had anxiety about how everyone else would feel. Then there were the many close friendships between some of the 20 and others on the forum. The first thing we would want to do is to share our news, but not one of us did, to my knowledge, because a promise is a promise. I absolutely believe Susan’s team – and it might have even come from beyond her team, although I’m not privy to all the information – had strong reasons for imposing a “gag” order about this. They are actually very conscient of Susan’s fans, believe it or not. Having seen Andy today, I’m more admiring of him than ever!

Having said that, I’ll say that GritsT’s initial description captures the essence of the event very well. Susan had been somewhere else this morning – and again, I have no idea where, nor did we ask – so we weren’t sure exactly when she would arrive. NYC traffic is unpredictable. So we ate quickly and waited. I have to admit to having a little trouble breathing when they said she was coming up the stairs. When you have seen her so many times on videos, the prospect of being in the same room is, well, kind of unreal. And what others have said in the past is true: seeing her in person is different. She has an aura that draws people to her; you can feel it. She was pretty casually dressed, and her hair was in her natural tousled curls. But it’s hard to focus on anything but her personality, as she hams it up, laughs and gives us all her energy. All the facial expressions we have seen over time come out in rapid succession. So fast that when you think you’re taking a picture of one, by the time the flash goes off, she’s on to another. She loves to clown.

We were all told we would have 3 minutes to sit with her one-on-one. But unbeknownst to us, she had not yet had lunch, so we waited while she ordered and gulped down a quick bite, along with Andy, Joanne, and others with her. As a result, I’m not sure, but I think in the end our time was shortened to 2 minutes. I say I’m not sure, because in the moment, things become a bit of a blur, and I’m not really sure about anything. Anyhow, while each person was with her, dozens of others were watching and taking pictures. Whatever I might have thought I would say to her, I pretty much forgot it when the moment came, but I guess I said something, and she was, of course, sweet and gracious. I can’t imagine how she can hold up under meeting with so many people she doesn’t know.

Then Andy gave us the extreme joy of hearing a sample from the new album (no, Susan did not sing for us), although he emphasized that it was still a work in progress and had not had the mixing completed. We were actually able to give our reaction to one song, which was: absolutely beautiful, but we want less orchestra and more Susan!! Sound familiar? He assured us that would still be adjusted. Unfortunately, and this will probably cause more cataclysmic reactions, Sony insists absolutely that the title not be revealed until they put it out officially. But you will know one quite soon, because Susan is going to sing it on
AGT.

OK, I rushed to write some of this now, since I know you’re wanting to hear more about what went on. Some of those attending are on their way home and can't post yet. Some don't have access to computers yet. I know there will be pictures, but I'm not proficient at that.

I sincerely thank those of you who are being understanding of this event. If you are thinking it’s daunting to post about it after reading some bitterness, you are right. I feel like hiding under a couch. In addition, I will need some serious time to decompress. I know for sure if there is another occasion, it will be another group entirely, and you’ll have your turn. To anyone feeling really bad, I understand, but I hope you can wait, as PT advised, until more is known about the purpose of the event and the reasons behind it before jumping to negative conclusions. Susan is an absolute angel, and she has the strongest defender in the world in Andy.
That makes me very happy.

Hello, folks, I am not at my usual computer but am at my son's place in NY, after being "1 of the 20" who shared a spectacular time with Susan today. I have lots of photos, but haven't had a chance to download and upload my downloads! I'll do that when I return on the 26th.

In the spirit of love and joy I want to share with you the extraordinary graciousness extended to all of us by Andy and Susan, Joanna and others who came with them to New York. The rooms were very small in St. Andrews Restaurant. When I went to check out the place Friday evening, I had to ask several people where the "private reserved room" was. Nobody had a clue that Susan was coming. Not the bartender; not the waitress; not even the manager. The manager knew that someone "important" was coming but they did not know who. Let me explain that this restaurant had a door as well as a huge double door which was fully open to the sidewalk. It was almost as if pedestrians could walk right through the open space with only tables and a chair blocking the path. When I saw how vulnerable the restaurant was to pedestrian traffic not for one moment did I question the "secrecy" request which was a burden of trust put upon us not to let a word get out about this event. Unfortunately in today's world such news could jeopardize the life and/or safety of the "famous" folk such as Susan herself.

What I learned from today's Meet and Greet was that it turned out to be an enormous success because Susan enjoys small groups and relishes spending individual time with each. This event would not have been possible if 200 or more people had attended. Susan is one of the few singers who offer such "fan time" in the first place. Her comfort and her requirements were our top priorities. If word had gotten out in NYC that Susan would be physically present at St. Andrews for lunch for a M & G, the general public and local passersby might have mobbed the place which would have necessitated cancelling the entire event in order to insure the safely of Susan and others. Please also remember that if somebody had informed "Page 6" of the New York Post of the event, either deliberately or inadvertently, it could well have mushroomed into additional media coverage and the little restaurant could have been packed with curious onlookers who only want to see a celebrity while they are in NYC. Susan's management and Grits made all of the right decisions in the best interests of Susan and in the best interest of insuring that the event would be successful.

Meeting other fans the night before and sharing dinner was a great thrill, just to be able to meet flesh and blood after cyperspacing words with each other for 2 1/2 years. Everyone was kind and considerate and wonderful to be near.

Today Susan herself breezed in with Andy and her entourage. We immediately began signing "Hello, Susan!" to the tune of "Hello, Dolly!" She smiled ear to ear and then began mingling into the crowd with a hug and greeting for each of us. Then we all sat down and she had her lunch with us. When she was finished, she got up, gave a big hello to Flat Susan and we all had a chance to take as many photos as we wanted. And then she sat down in a chair with an emtpy chair beside her and we all took turns by numbers to sit with her for our "3 minutes" of one to one time. She was encouraging us to bring her all sorts of things to sign. I belive it was Graysea who had the back of her T-shirt signed. For me she signed two books and I had the great honor on behalf of HAPPY and all the Golden Girls to gift Susan with her own autographed copy of Catching the Dream. Susan seemed thrilled, as well as touched by the gift. I also read to her the dedication page and she gave another big hug in thanks to all of us who wrote poems for her.

Andy then announced that in appreciation of the fact that people had traveled long distances to be here with Susan, he and Susan wanted to share with us FOUR recordings which in all probability will be included in her next CD. Andy indicated that Sony wanted all of us to turn in our cameras and cellphones in order to insure that no recordings of the songs we were about to hear would leave the room. We were asked to place such items in the provided envelopes with our names on them. The Sony sound man played the recordings and we were sworn not to disclose the titles of any of the songs because a few of them are well known classics. He did give us permission, however, to let you know that Susan will sing one of the songs on the season finale of
AGT. We listened to the songs and gave him feedback on each song.

The grand finale was a performance of a Texas line-dance performed to the tune of "New York, New York." Susan and Andy got a big kick out of that little number!

Susan was not in a rush to leave! She said goodbyes to each and all and gave even more hugs. This lady is well on her way to feeling totally comfortable with her fans and fame. And we truly loved the experience of being with Susan.

The recording industry is hugely competitve which is why there is great secrecy about release dates, track lists and promotion plans. The pseudo M&G apparently was put together as some part of the overall promotion plan for Susan's CD. There is no way that it could have been announced on this forum because, again, this forum is in no way private, and who knows who would have shown up for purposes not in Susan's best interests. This was clearly a business arrangement and not a case of Susan just wanting to kick back with some fans. I don't want those who agreed to go to NY at their own expense to reveal song titles or anything else surrounding CD #3 that will put Susan at a competitive disadvantage.

That was a fine report, S&R. Thanks. Are you allowed to tell us if there was one song the majority liked best and if so, was it a new one? Also what about their tempo.

Thank you, RC and others who have pointed these things out, that is exactly right. New York City is not West Lothian, by a long shot, so there is no comparison with the lovely local m&g's there. Sunandroses also expressed very well the situation that could very well have arisen, and very likely would have, had any word gotten out. They would simply have canceled it. This forum is not just "us," folks, and we all know that.

sunandroses, Thank you!!! Susan is such a gift to all of us... actually meeting small groups of fans and giving them her time and attention! I can see why there had to be such secrecy about this M & G. Susan is known worldwide now and a leak could have created a media storm that would have messed up everything that was planned. Susan really does love meeting her fans!! I know we all can't wait to see her perform on AGT! Thank you again.

I should like to know how you get to be on the A list! There are probably many of us who buy multiple copies of Subo's CD's but do not have the time to devote hours every day to following everything she does. We are no less fans! It is not really important to me whether I meet her or not but I feel somewhat disappointed by all of this.

All I can say is Wow!!!! Congratulations to the 20 chosen ones. I can't even imagine what it would have felt like to get a message inviting me to meet Susan. I am enjoying reading some of the comments from those who attended.

Rik, you are such a dear man to have been willing to give your chance to meet Susan to Lori. I know that must have meant a lot to her.

As for me, I once dreamed Susan was showing me around her kitchen and making a pot of tea for us to drink. I'll just keep waiting patiently until that dream comes true. After all, it would be my first trip to Scotland and I'd have more than 3 minutes to talk to her.;)

Okay, now that I've given my 2 cents worth, come on you 20. I want to hear more of your wonderful day in New York!!!!

Think about what you have posted and how those in NY may feel when they those posts.

I can't help but feel, Anniev, that most are mature enough to not pay too much attention to the few who are attempting to ruin this for all the rest of us. Please don't hesitate to post, NY 20, and know that the great majority are tickled to death for you, and waiting for reports and pictures. There are always a few--please don't let them ruin it for the rest of us.

LOL! It was a funny moment, actually, because practically everybody in the room was yelling the same thing. "Orchestra too loud!" By the way, Susan, was sitting sort of apart from us while the songs were playing, looking embarrassed, but pleased when we applauded. At one point she got very teary. So did we, in fact. For the last song she disappeared entirely.

Another sweet thing: Andy stood talking to us about the album, etc., with his arm around Susan. And she, in her style, kept mimicking him behind his back, making funny faces. Of course he knows her so well, and he realized it and chuckled. But she kept on doing it. In the end she gave him a big hug. She just melts your heart. I got a tear just now thinking of how loving she is.

Love your dream. I also like the twitter report of someone who dreamed a dragon was coming for them and Susan banished it by singing at it. :overjoyed: That's pretty funny... now on to read about all this...so exciting...

Oh, AnnieV, surely no amount of jealousy and complaining could compete with the joyful sunshine of time spent with Susan. :grouphug:
Thank you, Amber, for understanding any disappointment, and for sharing your thoughts, feelings and experience. And thank you, Sunandroses, for your report. I don't believe there was an "A-list." I was one of the lucky, lucky, lucky ones!

I am disappointed I was not invited since I live in midtown NYC.
However, I am very happy for all of you who were invited and grateful for sharing your experience and excitement with us. This is the beginning of promotion for Susan's 3rd album, the real test for the longivity of her career.

Thank you for your understanding

I have run ahead and read thru what starts to be page 26 of notes tonight. I understand all the opinions expressed here and particularly appreciate that three of the attendees have given us the thumbnail sketch of today's M&G. As much as we 'nosey Susan lovers' want to see and hear More and More and More, there are times when we really need LESS.

I'm pleased that RIK was asked and saddened that he and LisaP couldn't put feet or wings to any plans to attend. I hope at least one other male fan was included; sometimes it seems a tad lopsided when it is just SusaSisters, though I love a hen fest as much as anyone.

There is something that is a tiny spec in the note above from our Leader and apparently alluded in other posts ..... dealing with the 'doc' word .... I hope that the SONY team has a careful knowledge of where their 'doc' is going IF they Are going to add today's (or any other day's) M&G footage to their 'doc in progress'. The flip side of that, whether dvd or tv or what, is Susan's FUTURE SAFETY. Just saying .... I hope it is edited and presented in a way so we as forum and fansites are not deluged with even more trolls in the future. And where you find trolls you find paps, etc. and vice versa and maybe other strange events we have seen intrude upon Susan.

After reading this full day's dialogue I have a thought I'll toss out for Leadership's consideration. Kalua has alluded to all 'doc' posts being deleted when the thread dies down. I would take it a step further: There are not more than a dozen really good posts in this thread, most are from the attendees. Rather than let this entire thread fuminate in our archives, I would rather those really good posts be culled, harvested and put into a future thread in coming days for all the reports of the attendees --- and the rest of this entire thread be vanquished to the ether. We keep saying we want more members to come to the forum, but when they get inside the doors and start reading discussions like this one with so much negative dialog, I would rather it be deep-sixed altogether, gone at Midnight EST along with the rest of Cinderella's mice and coach. So that's my request, Skipper -- our Captain K. --- would request to tie an anchor on the thread and deep-six it at 23:59, Sir.

(PS It WAS Lovely to have seen such a nice turnout today. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in a day or two when the 20 attendees can finish updating us, although I must admit, I think we know more than we need to already.
AGT confirmation is plenty for me.)

GCY, your last sentence is so true (I'd bold it if I'd learned). You're right, what was really important about today was not all this other stuff, but that it was the beginning of Phase II of her career. And I'd really love to hear more reaction to the 4 songs.

I don't think the folks who have expressed disappointment are necessarily trying to steal the joy of those who were fortunate enough to have been chosen. I believe their feelings were genuinely hurt, especially if they've felt overlooked in the past. But since at least 3 of the fans who were with Susan have kindly shared their stories of their time with her, I think it's becoming clearer that security was paramount, folks who had never met her were selected fairly randomly and personal slights were never intended. Folks who haven't met her yet may well be able to enjoy a similar experience in the future. Thank you, Grits, Amber Duke and S & R for sharing your special time with Susan. These are moments to treasure. :) I hope you've jotted them all down for posterity!

Well here's the thing (as Mr. Monk says), I write poems/songs etc.and if someone else is reading them I feel really squirmy and a little self conscious til I see if they like them or not. Maybe it was something like that. So her reaction makes perfect sense to me. You feel really vulnerable when someone is critiquing your work.

Great stuff. Susan 'hamming it up' is one of her most endearing qualities.
In New York last Nov as well, she cracked me up swishing the tales of her coat back and forth and making muscle man motions with her arms. Part of her wonderful charm. Can't wait for more of these pics.

Annie, with all due respect, I said nothing in my post to cast any aspersions upon those fans fortunate enough to attend. I am very glad that they had the privilege and joy of meeting Susan, Andy, Joanne and the rest of the entourage. They are very kind to share their experiences and their happiness.

Believe me, I thought VERY carefully about what I posted before I posted it. Lest there be any further misunderstanding, my post was NOT directed at those lucky fans. My statement concerned the interesting, shall we say, manner in which the encounter was planned and executed. But, I will say no more.

I am so happy to hear all of the reports. It sounds as though you had a wonderful time. I think the old saying holds true: "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time." I think that soon, we will be able to see the whole picture and know why these decisions were made. I think all of Susan's fans are important to her. I can't wait to hear her new song on AGT.

I'm glad fans got to be with Susan and report back to us. thank you!

now here are the most important things to me:

1. they heard songs from the new cd and thought they were good! I know Susan is good big grin but I have been a little worried about how they'd have her sing, I don't like much of today's pop music.

2. we will all hear a new song when she sings it on
AGT. and that is soon. lots closer than November!

3. Susan is getting publicity in the U.S.!

and always the most important thing is that Susan is happy!

Amber,

Thank you for the wonderful report...and after having met you last fall in New York, I am so glad you had this opportunity to take part in this wonderful Meet & Greet. I sense from all your posts that you are a great Susan fan and rightfully deserved this chance.

I think what people have to realize here Susan did not personally make the choice of who was there. Susan is most relaxed when in smaller groups so even if more people could have been invited, it would have been too stressful for her. Susan also realizes that each one of her fans is important to her. She is where she is today, not only because she is extremely talented, but because of the support she gets from each and every one of us... in whatever small way it is. We are all important to Susan and feeling hurt or left out...is not the answer.

I have met Susan only once and it was not at a Meet and Greet...if I am never able to meet her again...then that's the way it will go down. Will I feel bad? No! I feel in my heart I am just as important to Susan as each and everyone else is. She appreciates all of us. And, that's what you all need to remember. We all love Susan, and her music has given each of us something special. That will not change. Am I a better fan than you, No I am not.... have I done more for Susan than you... No I have not. We all make up Susan's fan base whether we contribute a great deal or something small. She loves all of us...whether we be in her physical presence or not. Maybe she will never get to meet each and every one of us...but be grateful for what she has given to all of us.

I think some of you have expressed yourself better than myself but I wanted to at least say a few words and I am also happy for those who had their chance today.

Soothed, Thanks so much for your humor throughout this thread.

Feelings of disappointment are not childish, but understandable given the level of excitement that a visit with Susan generates.
Those selected to participate could have easily been any one of us, it's just hard to accept that fact given the
required secrecy. I hope to hear more stories soon. All who participate on this forum should congratulate themselves on the level of support that they have provided to Susan over the years. I feel those selected and those not selected are on equal footing in their admiration and enthusiasm for Susan.

Amber Duke, Thanks so much for your excellent recollection of events. (I always forget everything that happened) I'm glad you all expressed a shared desire to tone down the orchestra. Grits T. has shown herself to be a woman of action and had very little time to pull this off.

Sorry, I probably didn't report that quite right. There were 2 rooms with a connecting wide doorway. We were sitting in one, and she was sitting in the other at that moment, but in view of some of us. For the last song, she just moved to another side of that room where we didn't see her. For whatever reason, and I don't want to overdo with speculation. I felt maybe she didn't want to be observed at that moment. But of course there may have been another reason. Joanne was also over there. She came back when we burst into applause. What I am sure of is that it's a little traumatic for anyone to have recorded something new and sit while your fans hear it for the first time. I would have been anxious if it had been me. I can tell you, though, that after the first song, we were the ones in tears.

On the "Susan In New York" thread I responded to a picture of Susan by saying that it was nice to see her enjoying a pleasant summer afternoon in New York. Well, it appears Susan had a very pleasant time with her adoring fans, too! Thanks to all the attendees for extending a warm welcome to Susan. The few reports already posted are great! Going to the new thread and looking forward to more news of the exciting event.

Thank you for the heads up about
AGT on Aug. 31!

I completely agree with you, entropydecides. The fact is that GritsT was given very little time to pull something together, and she did so admirably, in spite of the fact that she was more than inundated with her personal life at the same time. I doubt that she ever got to sleep! Somebody has to organize, and she, Randma and Janna stepped up to the plate and did a fantastic job. I thank them all, as well as others who helped them in many ways.

Tweek, you said it beautifully.

And Lisa and RIK (also several others who were approached and couldn't make it), I'm so sorry you weren't there. Although, come to think of it, maybe that's why I got to go! Who knows?

Thank you, sunandroses, for your marvelous, detailed report. Yes, I agree, that Susan's safety and privacy is of utmost importance. Susan will forever cherish that lovely poetry book. Thank you for taking the time to type out such wonderful details for us to enjoy, for I know you all must be so very weary.

How did those who had never flown to NYC previously manage to find their way from the airport to the hotel? Did Andy provide transportation and an escort for those who needed assistance, if they were inexperienced travelers in a enormous city? Isn't Andy just the epitome of thoughtfulness! He is absolutely the perfect manager and business partner for Susan. And, yes, what joy it is to see Susan enjoying gatherings with small groups of her fans. She has a tender heart for people, such a key component of her amazing character and personality.

I'm hoping to be able to get AMTRAK tickets to L.A., for Susan's
AGT studio recording, but we are all unsure if it will be recorded on the 30th or the 31st. It seems as though she would need to record the previous day, if her performance was broadcast on August 31st. Are any of you allowed to provide some clear guidelines for those of us wanting to make train reservations, etc. plans to be there to support Susan in person at the Burbank CBS Recording Studio? Love, Trish

WHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATT???? LOL you got invited! How super! And yes, you were able to keep it a super secret!! I never had a clue! :) Good for you!!!! So happy for you.

Oh, don't I wish we had heard her sing in person! It was recordings they played for us, and they weren't the finished product. Still, Susan's voice . . . ! :cloud: Well, actually, we did hear her in person for one split second. As she was about to leave, we sang the first lines of "Perfect Day," and she chimed in on just a couple of words/notes. But it went by too fast!

Are you saying that PT and Grits T are lying and that Susan has met all these fans before? If so that is a very serious allegation, and you need to be very sure of your facts and to have evidence to back it up!

I left this site a year a ago as the behavior of many fans was just dreadful. I came back and thought it had improved. I see now that I was wrong. The same few people remain self indulgent and think it is all about them. I showed this thread to my children and asked them what they thought. My ten year old said that she did not want to be a grown up if grown ups behaved like this, and both my teenagers said that they could not believe that grown women were being so selfish. They both go to pop concerts and would be ecstatic if their friends got to meet their favourite star. Their would be none of this its not fair, I wanna go, let's throw a hissy fit and spit the dummy out of the pram mentality. As one said, "they behave like little kids who want an ice cream and can't have one and are throwing a tantrum in the supermarket". You should all be ashamed. I feel so bad for the fans who went and for the majority who I have seen watching who are desperate for more news from other fans and whose hopes could be dashed because some people behave like spoiled kids.
